EUOLogy: Humbug Annotation

So, I've been thinking about this for a while. I intentionally overstated my point a bit in the editorial, but I do think that perhaps people worry too much about making certain they celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

What really annoys me are the cheesy Christmas movies that try to bring out 'brotherly love' or 'believing in Christmas' as the real meaning of the season. This kind of whitewashed, non-denominational attempt at applying religious morals is offensive. Nobody ever tries to figure out the 'true meaning' of Thanksgiving or Columbus Day. If you want to have a non-religious holiday movie, don't try and force in some pseudo-meaningful moral to appease the religious crowd.
