One On, Six Off....
Posted on 01.12.05Categories:NoneSo, my roommate makes fun of me for this. I happen to teach a class at BYU right now. I suppose this could be considered my 'day' job, though the amount I earn for writing (which isn't actually that much yet) beats it hands down.
Regardless, this class occurs once a week for three hours. I am also taking one class, which also occurs once a week, on the same day as the class I'm teaching.
The result? I spend from about three until eight at the university every Tuesday. The rest of my time is devoted to writing. (And the occasional foray into timewasting.)
Hence Earl's "One on, six off" comment. Oddly, it didn't really take me much time to consider writing my 'real' job. I've been doing it for so long, devoting so much time to it, that making the transition to getting paid for it actually seemed kind of natural. Dumbfounding, yet still natural. I guess that for some time, I've really considered writing my job.
Or, at least, a job where I don't get paid and work about sixty hours a week. Wow. It kind of looks depressing when I say it that way. Sure am glad I finally sold something. . . .
