BRANDON: Hey! Brandon here with our Weekly Update.
All right, so Mistborn screenplay is at, Bing! 60%. Moving right along. On that note, do be aware, this is only the rough draft of the screenplay. So there'll be a lot of work. Screenplays go through lots of revisions. So Book 3 of Riftwake is still at, Bing! 20%. I think that's where Janci was last week as well.
A few little announcements for you, mostly events that I've got coming up, and again, mostly related to London. So while I'm in London, which will be this coming May, I would like to be able to do some things for those who can go to MCM, but also for those who can't. So the first thing is, my buddy Joe Abercrombie and I will be doing an event in London while I'm there. This is just an external event. The tickets are actually going on sale right now. This is for Thursday, May 21st. What I mean by external event is it means it's not—you don't have to have a ticket or a badge to MCM to go to this. I'm just going to be in town. I wanted to do something that was fun for people. And Joe is a good sport and a delightful human being. And I like to hang out with Joe when I can.
So if you want to see me and Joe Abercrombie and see Joe make fun of me, which he always does, then you can come see us Thursday, May 21st. We will have signed books and things, but this is more, again, like we're doing more nowadays, where Joe and I are chatting and answering questions and maybe poking a little fun at each other in front of a crowd and whatnot, rather than focused on the signing. Though, of course, there will be signed books available. So go grab those tickets if you want to see me and Joe. That's going to be a good time. If you haven't seen Joe on stage, maybe I'm hyping it too much, but he's a funny dude and he's fun to hang out with. So I think you'll enjoy your time. It'll make for a nice evening if you are looking for something to do that night.
Speaking of London MCM, the signings and panel info are still to be determined. We will post them as soon as we know. ComiCons, usually there's a lot of shuffling going on last minute. And so we're getting close to knowing what my schedule is going to be, but we can't post it yet. So keep an eye on things.
Though, again, for those who maybe can't make it to London MCM, we're going to do something also pretty fun. One of my favorite bookstores in the world is Forbidden Planet in London. I've signed there many times. I know many of you from the area have seen me there many times, including one that was somewhat recent. This is like 2019, somewhat recent. That's somewhat recent. We all lost three years for COVID. Just pretend that those years didn't exist. And you'll be like, yeah, it was just a few years ago. I came in the winter, and everyone queued outside to come sign. And I know a lot of you froze. That was an experience. This is why we're doing MCM this time.
But also, we're going to do a pop-up at Forbidden Planet. So what this means is Dragonsteel is going to bring a bunch of its stuff, and it's going to go take over part of Forbidden Planet. They're going to clear space for us, and we're going to have a mini Dragonsteel store inside Forbidden Planet's London mega store. This is really fun. This means you'll be able to go and browse and buy all kinds of cool Brandon Sanderson-y stuff, and I will have pre-signed books that you can pick up there. I don't know how many, because with my shoulder, it's a little hard to sign.
We already shipped them, though, right? They all went off in a big shipping container. So they will have some signed stock. I don't know how long it'll last, but we will be there during store hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, May 19th through 21st, just before London MCM. So if you aren't attending MCM, come look at what my team can do. They're going to make a really nice display. They're going to have all sorts of goodies and fun things. And Forbidden Planet has just been so much fun to work with, and we like that we get to take over part of their store.
Wind and Truth, trade paperback is now available. I have received confirmation that even though the mass market paperback, which is the small one, is dying a fairly quick death, we will have some availability of mass markets of these if you need to match yours. I can't promise Book 6 will ever have a mass market because as I said, the mass market is slowly being phased out by bookstores. And if bookstores don't want to sell it, that limits our ability to sell it. So you may want to start collecting these nice trade paperbacks, which are pretty nifty. They have the full-color end pages. But if you don't want these, there should be, at least for Five, some availability on the mass market. This is available now. Mass market, I think they're saying is like October-ish, maybe. But don't quote me too much on that.
And then I do have even one more event. This is for people in Utah who are feeling left out because I'm going to Atlanta and to London. Ryan Cahill is coming to visit Poppy Books, a local independent bookseller. We've been doing some things with them. Poppy's going to do sales and I'm going to interview him. If you haven't seen this, I do these sorts of things nowadays because I can't do events as much as I used to. They're just too chaotic. Now I go and interview other people and kind of be a good host to people coming to the region. And so come see Ryan and me on June 25th in Lehi, Utah. Poppy Books has the tickets up right now.
So if you're feeling like you're missing out on some Brandon, well, come see me, Poppy Books, 25th. We will have signed versions of my books pre-signed that you can get there. Again, I won't be doing an actual signing signing, but we'll have signed books. So if you need a gift for somebody, that'd be a good place to come get one because I don't sign books as much anymore.
There we are. Thank you for hanging out with that big, long list of events that I'm doing. Thank you guys. See you then.
